Training researchers for intelligent, sustainable and human-centred industry
The PhD program in MEET (Manufacturing Engineering for Emerging Technologies) offers an interdisciplinary pathway focused on the development of technologies and models for next-generation manufacturing systems, in line with Industry 5.0 principles. The program addresses the design and management of Intelligent Industrial Manufacturing Ecosystems (IIME), where artificial intelligence, human factors and sustainability converge to enable adaptive, data-driven and resilient production systems. Doctoral candidates acquire a broad foundation in industrial systems engineering, complemented by expertise in key areas such as:
- Intelligent and data-driven manufacturing systems
- Advanced industrial automation and robotics
- Digital twin, simulation and process optimization
- Product and process innovation
- Sustainability and energy efficiency of production systems
- Industrial cybersecurity and digital integration
The program integrates research with industrial application, fostering interdisciplinarity and technology transfer. It prepares researchers capable of addressing the complexity of modern manufacturing systems and contributing to the digital and sustainable transformation of industry.
